Synchronicity

Monday, 2 May 2016

My word of the moment is 'Synchronicity'.

I can't get enough of it, it blows my mind how much this happens. The connectedness between us and the Universal energy is so amazing.
Synchronicity is great fun when you're open enough to see it.
I read an explanation recently that gelled with me-

' When you watch a 3D movie you put on special glasses in order to see images emerge that had been invisible before. Learning about Synchronicity is like putting on special glasses that allow new dimensions that have been there all along, to now be visible.'

Once you start to understand and be open to it, you see it happening everywhere.

Carl Yung initially posed the idea of Synchronicity and explained it as
'The meaningful coincidence of inner and outer events that are not causally connected.'
The key word is meaningful 💜

Do yourself a favour and open your mind to linked events and happenings that bring about a significant event or happening.
Feel free to share if you've got something to add 🌻

Reiki 🙏🏼

I've been asked heaps 'what is Reiki?'

Have you ever felt like Bill Murray in Ghostbusters after he'd been slimed by the ghost?

You feel tired, lethargic, no drive, sick but nothing's wrong with you or you just feel in a rut and you have no motivation to get going?

Reiki is like a gurni filled with loving energy that comes and washes all that sludge away 💜

You remain fully clothed, laying or sitting or however you're comfy and reiki is given through the practitioners hands to you.
Some people go to sleep, some talk, some cry, some laugh, Reiki goes to where it's needed and works to balance your energy and remove any energy blocks that are there from injury or past events.

Reiki is amazing for helping people work through issues from their past, some use reiki in conjunction with a psychologist and have fantastic results letting go of past hurts.

Athletes have Reiki to help with injury but also to prepare them energetically for their events.
As do students have Reiki leading up to and during exams to help control anxiety and ensure they remain calm.

Pregnant women love Reiki, it helps to bond Mother and baby and give the expectant mum calm, neutral energy through her pregnancy and alleviate sickness.

Reiki can be used on animals and plants and also to clear the energy in your home or office.

Reiki has no religious connotations and is not witchcraft, we are all made up of energy and Reiki is the Universal energy available to us all.
Anyone can become a Reiki practitioner by training with a Reiki Master and being attuned with Reiki energy.

If you have any questions please get in touch, I've seen some amazing things come from being open to Reiki. After all Love cures all and that's what Reiki is 💜💜💜

Stories in My Mirror

Thursday, 28 April 2016

One of my favourites visited this morning who is 18 and one of the most grounded, intelligent and internally and externally beautiful young people I am blessed to know. Whether it be at the studio or at training martial arts, I am surrounded by excited, motivated, artistic, respectful and loving young people that I call my friends.
This lovely girl is travelling to Thailand to work in an orphanage for a month which is her first overseas trip and she's so excited. Today's events for her was we cut a fringe for the first time and she was just as excited about that. So refreshing to be around such free energy it's infectious.
She struck up a conversation with the lady sitting next to her whose 51 and her whole story of an adventurous life unfolded, being in the army, travelling the world and now in her 50's going to study museum art which has been her life long passion. They spoke of books each may be interested in and swapped titles and they then connected on Facebook to follow each other's travels. So cool as these two people were meant to meet today even if only to share their stories for an hour. I love synchronicity, I'm inspired every day by the small moments others may take for granted where we are set on a course to follow our path. Picking up information that we may need later sometimes from perfect strangers.

Stories in My Mirror

Stories in my mirror

How sad it is when your hairdresser loves and appreciates you more than your family.
Our lovely lady of 78 battling cancer for the second time, controlling husband that demands all her attention but gives nothing back, including not giving her money for the only thing she does for herself her hair. Wayne has looked after her for over 20 years and is doing her perm complimentary cause he knows how much it means to her. She has four children and a stepson and now 10 grandchildren.
She talks with love oozing out of her and yet none of them appreciate her.
Over the many years she's been a client she's sung to us, read us the new idea and let's us know about all the lovely people and what they're up to, she always tells us how beautiful we are, brings us homemade treats and she has an unending love for all animals but particularly dogs.
She just asked did we have a good upbringing? This sparked a great conversation amongst us, where everyone was reminded of their childhood and we all shared funny stories. We're now on the topic of her youth and she's talking with such love and admiration for her father and how he treated her mother like a queen and his time in the war, she's smiling and has tears glistening in her eyes whilst she speaks.
Sad that her family don't take the time to listen and to share this with her.
This is what makes me so grateful that every day I get to connect with people and their stories.
To have real conversations and share moments is to me what life is all about and I'm so blessed to have a career that allows me this every day.

Ejiri ..... Her story begins

Wednesday, 27 April 2016

12 years ago I was working in a salon that was sucking the life out of me and completely taking advantage of my beautiful clients. I realised that it doesn't need to be like this and with the encouragement of my husband Cameron and a few friends, Ejiri Hair Studio was born.

With Cams passion for everything African we created the theme, Cam came up with the name and the logo.  With the love and support of my beautiful husband I  nervously opened and hoped that clients would follow me.

Immediately it happened, people came from everywhere and my clients became my friends.

The salon was small and basic but it didn't matter, it was mine and I made it comfy for people to come hang out.

We then said yes to buying a shop and watched it being built, I still can't believe I did this. But to create a special space away from the crowds where my clients could come and feel at home was such a great opportunity.

Ejiri has evolved from a simple hair salon to now being a space where people can feel completely able to be and express themselves. There's so much love inside her walls and she's been created not just by me but the amazing people I've met over the years who've created through their art an amazing atmosphere.

Thank you especially to Katherine and Laura Jukes for the African Mural and Hannah Robb for my Tree of Life and Love in my healing room.

A very special thank you to my incredible sister Katie who well is just amazing and my biggest fan.

Also to my squad of friends who constantly empower me thank you for your friendship and love.

The biggest thank you goes to Cam, I love him to pieces and he's taught me to see the world differently which is what lead me to here.

Doing hair has always been a passion but it's now more the connection I have with people and the ability to help empower and educate them about how to live a life filled with love. Bringing Reiki into Ejiri has lifted her vibration and created a magnet effect for people to be drawn to her when they need lifting.

I am full of gratitude that I am still here 12 years on, I have so much love for Ejiri and the people who connect with her and I look forward to continuing  on my path in order to connect with more and more amazing people.
