Ejiri ..... Her story begins

Wednesday 27 April 2016

12 years ago I was working in a salon that was sucking the life out of me and completely taking advantage of my beautiful clients. I realised that it doesn't need to be like this and with the encouragement of my husband Cameron and a few friends, Ejiri Hair Studio was born.

With Cams passion for everything African we created the theme, Cam came up with the name and the logo.  With the love and support of my beautiful husband I  nervously opened and hoped that clients would follow me.

Immediately it happened, people came from everywhere and my clients became my friends.

The salon was small and basic but it didn't matter, it was mine and I made it comfy for people to come hang out.

We then said yes to buying a shop and watched it being built, I still can't believe I did this. But to create a special space away from the crowds where my clients could come and feel at home was such a great opportunity.

Ejiri has evolved from a simple hair salon to now being a space where people can feel completely able to be and express themselves. There's so much love inside her walls and she's been created not just by me but the amazing people I've met over the years who've created through their art an amazing atmosphere.

Thank you especially to Katherine and Laura Jukes for the African Mural and Hannah Robb for my Tree of Life and Love in my healing room.

A very special thank you to my incredible sister Katie who well is just amazing and my biggest fan.

Also to my squad of friends who constantly empower me thank you for your friendship and love.

The biggest thank you goes to Cam, I love him to pieces and he's taught me to see the world differently which is what lead me to here.

Doing hair has always been a passion but it's now more the connection I have with people and the ability to help empower and educate them about how to live a life filled with love. Bringing Reiki into Ejiri has lifted her vibration and created a magnet effect for people to be drawn to her when they need lifting.

I am full of gratitude that I am still here 12 years on, I have so much love for Ejiri and the people who connect with her and I look forward to continuing  on my path in order to connect with more and more amazing people.
